“Unity forms bedrock of Islamic society”

Addressing the conference of the first conference of “Proximity of Islamic religions from Imam Khomeini’s views, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought underscored, “Unity of identity forms the bedrock of Islamic society,” reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

“Progress of the society stem in unity of identity,” the religious cleric underscored stressing with this unity then differences in takes and thoughts cause not problems, all the same helps society to make headway.

According to Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, enemies of Islam and some certain states are seeking to change the identity of Muslims by dominating the Islamic world, given that the role of religious thinkers and elites is of prime importance in counteracting such willful move.

Muslims are a diverse group made up of several nationalities, and social and economic backgrounds. Given that and according to religious clerics including Ayatollah Araki, Muslim identity has become a controversial issue in many countries across the world, with localities, personal beliefs and perspectives all being questioned.

Along with Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, religious thinkers believe the first and most important element of Muslim identity is faith. And as to this point, Muslims from all sects and denominations share many commonalities and faiths.

As to these issues, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki in his speeches place stress on religious thinkers and unity activists in directing people to the right path building the human society with a united identity.

It is noteworthy that the  secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, in his speech at the International Islamic Unity Week in Tehran stressed Islamic unity neither a tactic nor a long term strategy but the foundation for identity of Islamic nation.

Ayatollah Araki highlighted calling for unity, struggling to maintain its achievements and also confrontation with any behavior which might lead to clashes, division and disunity of Muslims.
