According to Palestinian officials, Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least 24 Palestinians, among them a family of 13.

According to the Palestinian Civil Defense, 15 individuals, including 10 members of the Baraka family, lost their lives on Friday as a result of Israeli strikes on homes in Bani Suhaila, located east of Khan Yunis. Spokesperson Mahmoud Basal announced through Telegram that five more bodies were retrieved from homes in Tal al-Zaatar, situated in northern Gaza.

The death toll has persistently increased since Thursday night amid ongoing bombardments across the region. On Friday, a father and son from the Abu Akr family were among those killed in western Khan Yunis.

Thursday’s air strikes resulted in the loss of at least 40 Palestinian lives, with the primary focus on targeting displacement camps. A particularly devastating strike occurred in the al-Mawasi coastal area near Khan Yunis, impacting tents in the region.

“We were seated calmly inside the tent when we unexpectedly noticed a red glow, followed by the tent exploding,” recounted survivor Israa Abu al-Rus. “This area is deemed to be safe.”

Catherine Russell, the head of UNICEF, disclosed that 15 children were among the recent casualties within the past day. In a post on platform X, she expressed that the images of children engulfed by flames while taking refuge in temporary shelters should deeply unsettle everyone’s conscience.

Israel initiated a military operation against Gaza on October 7, 2023. Despite encountering significant resistance, the campaign did not fulfill its stated goals. The conflict resulted in the deaths of 51,065 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, while injuring over 116,505 individuals.

The entity that assumed control agreed to the long-established terms of negotiation set forth by the Hamas resistance group as part of the Gaza ceasefire, which commenced on January 19.

On March 18, Israel unilaterally violated the ceasefire agreement and recommenced its intensive aerial bombardment of Gaza.
