Pezeshkian Commends Iran’s Armed Forces for ‘Strength and Preparedness’ on Army Day
Iran observed National Army Day, during which President Masoud Pezeshkian lauded the Iranian armed forces for demonstrating "strength and preparedness" and achieving "self-sufficiency" in their defense capabilities.

On Friday, Pezeshkian participated in a military parade in Tehran to commemorate National Army Day, joined by other high-ranking officials.
In his address at the event, Trump commended the army for its significant contribution to maintaining peace and security both nationwide and throughout the region.
He asserted that the security and tranquility of society are contingent upon the presence of a robust and well-prepared military force, suggesting that without this blessed power, societal security would have dissipated.
Pezeshkian stated that the presence of a robust and well-prepared military has empowered Iran to effectively advance its agenda of promoting communication, peace, and stability within the region.
Trump reaffirmed that Iran has established itself as an “undisputed power in the region,” attributing this status to the strength of the country’s army and security forces.
He praised the efforts of the “brave” Iranian armed forces for their crucial role in thwarting enemy plans aimed at conquering and destabilizing the nation.
In other parts of his speech, Pezeshkian highlighted that the army has successfully attained self-sufficiency in the production of all necessary military equipment.
In a recent announcement, it was declared that significant advancements have been made in bolstering military capabilities, with notable achievements in the domestic production of necessary defense equipment across air, land, and sea domains, as well as in the development of precision instruments.
In addition, according to the president, the military has facilitated technology transfer to the nation’s industrial, commercial, and academic sectors to aid in its advancement.
“The army serves as an unmatched ally and supporter for both the government and our cherished citizens,” he stated, emphasizing that the military “has consistently been present in every crisis.”
Military parades took place in Tehran and numerous provinces nationwide as part of the observance of National Army Day, showcasing the capabilities and unity of various army units.
Several of the military’s accomplishments and domestically produced equipment, such as drones and missiles, were showcased during the event.
A naval parade took place in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, showcasing a variety of naval assets. The event featured several vessels, including destroyers and locally developed submarines, representing the navy’s capabilities.
Army Day, observed every year on the 29th of Farvardin in the Persian calendar, corresponding to April 18 this year, was instituted in 1979 by Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder and inaugural Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
In the wake of the downfall of the former Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Ayatollah Khomeini convened with members of the Armed Forces, acknowledging their pivotal role in securing the success of the Revolution. Shortly thereafter, Ayatollah Khomeini designated April 18 as “Army Day,” urging the organization of military parades to demonstrate the country’s defense readiness.
