Iran missile attacks killed over 170 terrorists in Deir Ezzor

Over 170 Takfiri terrorists were killed in IRGC missile strikes on ISIL commander bases and arms facilities in Deir Ezzor in retaliation for the June 7 attacks in Tehran, Iran Revolutionary Guard said in a statement.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a statement issued on Wednesday said the June 18 missile attacks on ISIL commander bases and arms facilities in Syria’s Deir Ezzor in an operation codenamed ‘Lailat al-Ghadr’ had followed the military hierarchy and was carried out with full coordination of Armed Forces under command of Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei.

The statement adds that all stages of intelligence gathering about the position of ISIL Takfiri terrorists and their bases in Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria, were carried out by ground forces of IRGC Quds branch and given to IRGC Aerospace Force for carrying out the strikes.

Six ground-to-ground, mid-range missiles were fired from bases in provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan, western Iran, at ISIL targets in Deir Ezzor.

In the successful operation, over 170 takfiri terrorist inducing a number of commanders and influential elements were killed and many others injured. Terrorists’ weapons, equipment and systems also sustained heavy damage, the statement concluded.
