Brave Yemen Successfully Downs $30 Million Advanced US Drone

Yemeni military forces have reportedly downed another sophisticated American MQ-9 drone, which was carrying out "hostile missions" within the nation's airspace, according to military sources.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, it was announced that an American MQ-9 drone was successfully intercepted by locally manufactured missile defenses while conducting operations in the airspace over the al-Jawf Governorate. The operation, attributed to divine assistance, marked a significant development in the ongoing efforts.

“This marks the third drone intercepted by our air defenses in a span of ten days, and the eighteenth during the ongoing Promised Victory and Holy Jihad operation in support of Gaza,” the statement continued.

The estimated average cost per unit for an MQ-9 drone is approximately $33 million. Consequently, the recent downing of these drones in Yemen has resulted in a U.S. financial loss nearing $600 million.

On Saturday, the New York Times reported that the United States military has expended $200 million worth of munitions since resuming its campaign in Yemen over two weeks ago, with the results being described as “limited.”

Reports from a prominent newspaper suggest that campaign expenses are poised to exceed $1 billion by next week.

The statement declared that the downing serves as a retaliation against continued American aggression in Yemen and the grave attacks against its citizens. This action comes merely hours following a series of lethal U.S. airstrikes targeting multiple regions.

Late Tuesday, the United States launched a series of 22 intense airstrikes across multiple provinces in Yemen, following an earlier wave of aerial assaults that included targets in the capital, Sana’a.

The western province of al-Hudaydah experienced significant casualties as eight civilians, including two children and a woman, were confirmed deceased. At least 16 additional individuals sustained injuries, with many reported to be in critical condition.

American naval assets have faced significant retaliation from Yemeni forces, responding to what they perceive as Washington’s military interventions and its alleged involvement in the events described as an Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced that they intend to continue their attacks until the cessation of Israel’s ground and aerial operations in Gaza.

Yemeni forces have initiated counterattacks in solidarity with Palestinians following Israel’s sustained military campaign on the embattled Gaza Strip in October 2023.

The United States, alongside its Western allies, has intensified its actions against Yemen following the nation’s renewed operations opposing Israel. This comes in response to what is described as the regime’s resumption of aggressive military activities in Gaza recently. Reports from Yemeni sources indicate that the American attacks have targeted civilian areas, resulting in the deaths of numerous non-combatants.

The declaration reiterated Yemeni forces’ steadfast support for Gaza, emphasizing their commitment to ongoing operations in response to any hostilities against the nation.

Authorities have asserted their readiness to address and respond to any efforts aimed at undermining their sovereignty, security, and stability. They have pledged that their operations will persist until hostilities against Gaza come to an end and the blockade is lifted.
