A large group of reinforcements from the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard arrived to the Bureijj Quarries in northern Aleppo on Sunday night to help Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary) retake the Handarat Refugee Camp.

According to an Al-Masdar correspondent in Damascus, the Republican Guard soldiers were tasked by the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command to lead the next round of attacks at the Handarat Refugee Camp in northern Aleppo.

The Republican Guard units, along with Liwaa Al-Quds, are now stationed at the Shaher District’s front-lines, where they are preparing to launch the new assault to recapture the Handarat Camp from the jihadist rebels of Fatah Halab.

Earlier this morning, the Russian Air Force launched a number of airstrikes over the Handarat Camp, destroying several Fatah Halab hideouts inside this district; this has paved the way for the Syrian Armed Forces to launch a ground attack.
