Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Inflicts Heavy Losses on Terrorists in Deir Ezzur Province

The Syrian army hit hard the terrorists’ military positions and hardware in Deir Ezzur province in Eastern Syria.

The terrorists in Deir Ezzur province sustained heavy losses in tough battle with the Syrian army.

The Syrian army also continued its advances in other key provinces across Syria.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army troops and Air Force resumed attacks on ISIL’s movements and positions in and around Deir Ezzur city on Monday, inflicting major casualties on the terrorists.

The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL along the road connecting the village of al-Baqaliyeh to Panorama base in Deir Ezzur outskirts, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their military equipment.

In the meantime, the army men clashed fiercely with the ISIL and repelled their attack in surrounding of Tamin Brigade base in Southern outskirts of Deir Ezzur, inflicting heavy casualties on the militants.

Also, the army aircraft pounded ISIL’s centers and movements West of Deir Ezzur in the regions of al-Mawared, Huweija Kateh, al-Thardah crossroad, Deir Ezzur airbase, the neighborhoods of al-Huweiqa, old airport and al-Omal and in the villages of al-Baqaliyeh, al-Jnainiyeh, al-Shoula and al-Shamitiyeh, killing a number of them and destroying their vehicles and equipment.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops continued to hit ISIL’s strongholds and defense lines hard in Eastern Homs, driving terrorists out of three small, but key towns on Monday.

The army units took control of the towns of Bekheiran, al-Ariqeh and al-Othmaniyeh after hours of heavy fighting and exchange of heavy fire with ISIL terrorists.

The army men reached the town of al-Koum in Northeastern Homs after their advances earlier on Monday.

Military sources said earlier on Monday that the army men, supported by heavy artillery and air fire, engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL at T2 station in Eastern Homs, and managed to lay siege on the town of Humeimeh from the Western and Southern directions, cutting off the supply line of the terrorists from the third station to Humeimeh.

The sources added that the army soldiers took control of Wadi (desert) Doweikheh in Southern Deir Ezzur near the provincial border with Eastern Homs 10.5km away from T2 station.

“The army units inflicted a number of casualties on ISIL and destroyed several of their military and bomb-laden vehicles,” the sources said, adding that a number of terrorists fled the battlefield towards the town of al-Mayadeen in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.

Hama

The Syrian Army troops stormed ISILs’ defense lines in Eastern Homs on Monday and managed to impose control over more territories after inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The army men, deployed South of Khara’eb al-Katnah, engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL and advanced 15km in the depth of terrorist-held territories.

The army men pushed ISIL back from al-Rawij region and reached North of Ba’ar Hasiyeh.

In the meantime, the army soldiers managed to advance against ISIL from their positions in Jubb al-Mazari’a East of the village of Salba and took control over al-Rahil Farm region.

ISIL suffered heavy casualties and its military hardware sustained major damage.

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets carried out several combat flights over ISIL’s positions in Eastern Hama earlier on Mondat, destroying a long network of tunnels and a number of terrorists’ arms and ammunition depots.

The warplanes conducted heavy bombing raids on the positions and munition depots of ISIL in the villages of Souha, Hamadi Omar, Akash, al-Qastal and Jarouh, destroying the targets and inflicting a number of casualties on the terrorists.

Also, the army soldiers launched an offensive on ISIL in Eastern Hama and destroyed a network of tunnels dug by the terrorists throughout the years they had ruled over Aqayrabat and other impassable regions.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units pounded ISIL’s strongholds in the villages of Hamadi Omar, Abu Hanaya, al-Qastal, Salba and Qalib al-Thor, destroying three vehicles.

Also, field sources reported that the army soldiers prevailed over ISIL’s defense lines on the hill overlooking Salba in Aqayrabat region.

Damascus

The terrorist groups continue to retreat from their positions in Eastern Ghouta after sustaining heavy casualties in Syrian Army attacks, field sources said on Monday.

The sources said that the army soldiers continued to push towards areas South of al-Manasher Roundabout, inflicting heavy damage on Faylaq al-Rahman as they attempt to link their positions to areas under the control of their comrades near Ein Terma.

The army men are also making steady progress in Jobar, capturing several buildings after hours of bloody battle with the militants, the sources further added.

Syrian Army General Fauz Mustafa said Monday that the military helicopters continued to drop thousands of leaflets over terrorist-held regions in Eastern Ghouta, urging militants to give up fight and surrender to the officials in charge.

General Mustafa said that the Syrian Defense Ministry is trying to encourage gunmen the Daamscus suburbs of Eastern Ghouta where a de-escalation zone was set up nearly a month ago to come back to normal life.

“We can see teachers and children at school, and here are militants who teach their children how to handle weapons. We ask them what they want their children to be like, like this or like that,” the general explained commenting on the visual images prepared by the Syrian Defense Ministry circulated online.

He further said that the army distributed more than a million leaflets during the hostilities in East Ghouta, adding that they also have a loudspeaker mounted on an armored vehicle.

Leaflets were dropped from a helicopter and distributed among civilians heading for East Ghouta through the Russian military police checkpoint located there.

It is assumed that local residents who are relatives or friends of gunmen can persuade them to surrender.

“Dear East Ghouta residents! Please help restore security to this district of Syria. Persuade gunmen to surrender,” the leaflets said.
