The Lebanese Army captured two members of the ISIL terrorist group after carrying out a raid in the town of ‘Arsal near the Syrian border.
The two ISIL terrorists were attempting to evade capture by hiding inside a car in ‘Arsal, however, they were spotted by local civilians who immediately contacted the authorities, Lebanese Army statement reads.
As a result, the army forces were deployed to the reported area and captured the terrorists, the statement added.
The Lebanese army has intensified anti terrorist operations in Lebanon’s Eastern region of Arsal since early April and has been able to neutralize or arrest many terrorist in the area.
Early this week, the Lebanese Army troops stormed a refugee camp in greater Arsal in the and arrested a large number of terrorists.
