IRGC Navy Commander Asserts Comprehensive Intelligence Oversight in Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy (IRGCN) has reiterated its commitment to comprehensive, round-the-clock intelligence surveillance over the Strait of Hormuz, encompassing surface, aerial, and sub-surface areas.

During a naval exercise conducted by the IRGC in the Persian Gulf, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri underscored the importance of “complete oversight” to guarantee the security of transit through this strategic maritime route.

He emphasized that the economies of both regional and many extra-regional countries are closely tied to the security of this crucial maritime corridor.

A high-ranking military official has referred to the Iranian islands located in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz as a source of “national honor,” depicting them as “impregnable fortresses and warships.”

Tangsiri highlighted that although these maneuvers are part of routine annual activities, this particular exercise is notable for its implementation of new tactics and the deployment of specialized equipment.

Some of these advancements are being highlighted through media coverage, while a substantial portion remains confidential for future disclosure.

The initial phase of the military exercises was successfully carried out on Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf on Monday.

As reported by the IRGCN Public Relations office, the exercises incorporated multiple significant elements.

Elite rapid response battalions recently conducted exercises to refine and execute the most current offensive and defensive strategies.

Recent military exercises included the execution of missile operations employing the latest missile types. The exercises focused on honing combat tactics specifically designed for effectiveness within electronic warfare (EW) environments.

Drone and sub-surface units were deployed from the three Iranian islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa to engage specified targets.

The primary phase of the operation is set to proceed on Tuesday in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the intelligent management of the crucial water passage.

Military exercises were conducted in the backdrop of ongoing U.S. threats to launch an attack on Iran should it fail to meet nuclear stipulations and other related demands.

The United States has deployed several warships to the waters near Iran, leading Tehran to issue a warning that any attack, even a solitary shot, would trigger a widespread and substantial retaliation against American interests in the area.
