Syria restores Jbessa gas pipeline after sabotage damage
Syria’s Jbessa gas pipeline has returned to service after crews repaired damage caused by an act of sabotage in the al-Shoula area of Deir Ezzor countryside, the Syrian Petroleum Company said Friday.
The company said on Telegram that crews replaced an 18-meter section of the 16-inch-diameter pipeline before restoring service and resuming gas transmission.
The repairs were completed in record time, the company said, adding that the pipeline’s return to service would help maintain gas supplies and support operations in the area.
The pipeline between al-Shoula and Deir Ezzor was damaged on Sept. 28 in what the company described as an act of sabotage that caused a sectional valve on the line to explode.
The area contains infrastructure linked to gas production and transmission.
