Iran’s Military Forces Down Seven Additional Drones, Including Hermes and MQ-9, in Retaliatory Strike
Iran's Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have effectively neutralized seven additional sophisticated enemy drones, executing accurate retaliatory attacks on enemy positions throughout the West Asian region.
In an official statement released on Thursday, Iran’s Army reported that the Joint Air Defense Headquarters successfully intercepted and neutralized seven drones, identified as Hermes and MQ-9 models, over the country’s western and southwestern regions.
The ground force units and air defense systems of both the Army and the IRGC worked in perfect coordination to successfully complete their mission.
Unmanned aerial vehicles, operated by hostile groups associated with the Israeli regime and supported by the United States, attempted unauthorized operations over Iranian territory.
The efficient interception highlights Iran’s high state of readiness and the advanced technological capabilities of its comprehensive air defense systems, which have continuously countered violations amidst ongoing tensions with the United States and Israel.
The Army disclosed that during this period, attack drones launched by the ground, air, and naval forces of the Islamic Republic’s military executed successful operations targeting critical military sites.
The recent strikes targeted areas including Tel Aviv, the Miron radar installation linked to the occupying Zionist regime in al-Quds, and American military positions in Erbil, Iraq, as well as Camp Al-Adiri in Kuwait.
The precision-guided strikes dealt significant damage to the targeted locations, effectively disrupting the adversary’s coordination and surveillance capabilities.
Iranian armed forces continue to showcase a steadfast defense of national sovereignty, responding appropriately to what are described as provocations by the United States and the Israeli regime, who are claimed to have initiated the current aggression without provocation.
