An assault launched by the Saudi military and its proxies against positions for the Houthi rebels in northern Yemen has been foiled as the Saudi-led coalition intensify airstrikes on the war-stricken country.
Houthi fighters ambushed a convoy for the Saudi Army and its backed militants while attacking their positions in al-Talaa area and the surrounding mountains in Nijran region.
An armored vehicle for the Saudi military was completely destroyed by an ATGM fired by the Houthis. The ambush has forced the attackers to retreat, leaving behind a couple vehicles and some of their weapons.
Meanwhile in Jalaj area east of Nijran, the Saudi Army failed to advance as Houthis fought off the offensive.
