Vucic: Serbia attaches great importance to relations with Syria

Belgrade, SANA- Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that his country attaches great importance to relations with Syria, and indicated that Serbia will always maintain its position of defending the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

Accepting the credentials of Muhammad Haj Ibrahim as the new Syrian Ambassador to Serbia, the Serbian President expressed his hope that Syria will overcome the difficulties it is going through and embark on the path of recovery and prosperity.

He also hoped that Syria will once again play its important role in the region and the world.

Ambassador Haj Ibrahim, in turn, conveyed to Vucic the greetings of President Bashar Al-Assad and his congratulations on the victory of his party in the parliamentary elections that took place last December.

Haj Ibrahim reiterated Syria’s clear position regarding Kosovo as an integral part of Serbian territory and its support for Serbia’s sovereignty and independence.
