Thousands of soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Syrian Marines are training in the Latakia Governorate for their upcoming offensive along the Turkish border.
According to a military source in Damascus, the soldiers are completing a rigorous training regimen in the mountains of eastern Latakia before they depart to the Jabal Al-Akrad and Jabal Al-Turkmen regions.
The first phase of the offensive will concentrate on sealing the Latakia-Turkey border, which is partially controlled by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
The second phase of the offensive will be conducted in the Al-Ghaab Plain and carried out until the Syrian Army reaches the southern axis of Jisr Al-Shughour.
Once they reach Jisr Al-Shughour, the Syrian Army will attempt to capture this imperative city and clear the border points in this imperative district in western Idlib.
