Taliban: There will be no concession of even an inch of Afghan territory
The Taliban government has dismissed Trump's suggestion to reclaim Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

The Taliban has declared unequivocally that it will not cede “even one metre” of Afghanistan in response to Trump’s comment expressing a desire to reclaim a former US air base in the nation, according to reports from Western media sources.
Bagram, Afghanistan’s largest air base situated to the north of Kabul, served as the central hub for US military operations throughout the two-decade-long conflict with the Taliban.
Trump issued a warning that dire consequences would ensue if Kabul did not restore the site to US control, four years after US troops had vacated the location.
Amir Khan Muttaqi, the foreign minister of Afghanistan, declared that regardless of international recognition or the reconstruction efforts, including proposals for Bagram, there will be no concession of even an inch of Afghan territory.
“This represents our position, a sentiment shared by the populace.”
He questioned why such agreements weren’t accepted over two decades ago, given the extensive loss of lives and widespread devastation.
Muttaqi responded after Trump issued a cautionary statement on his Truth Social platform, asserting, “If Afghanistan doesn’t return the Bagram airbase to its constructors, the United States of America, adverse consequences will ensue!”
The United States relinquished control of Bagram Airfield shortly before the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in 2021. The base had been a pivotal hub for US-led military operations in the region for two decades.
