Syrian Interior Ministry deploys forces to eastern Deir Ezzor under ceasefire with SDF

Syrian Interior Ministry units have begun deploying to eastern Deir Ezzor province in northeastern Syria, following a ceasefire and full integration agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to a statement on the ministry’s Telegram channel, the deployment is part of a broader security plan aimed at protecting civilians and property while stabilizing the region.

The ministry said its immediate priorities include establishing checkpoints, conducting regular patrols, and maintaining a steady security presence to safeguard residents.

Late Sunday, President Ahmad al-Sharaa signed the 14-point ceasefire and integration agreement with the SDF. The deal calls for an immediate ceasefire and the full administrative and military handover of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa governorates to the Syrian government. The agreement has been welcomed by regional and international actors.
