The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the Russian fighter jets, struck the ISIL strongholds in the Northern side of Homs-Deir Ezzur highway and pushed the terrorists back from more heights near a key airbase in the region.

The ISIL concentration centers near the hilltops at the Southern side of the T4 Military Airport in Eastern Homs were massively targeted by the Syrian soldiers and the Russian Air Forces.

The ISIL suffered a heavy death toll and its military hardware sustained major damage in the attacks.

In relevant developments in the Central province on Saturday, ISIL withdrew from more positions and lost several more key hilltops to the Syrian army in Eastern Homs province, military sources said.

“The Syrian army men continued to drive the ISIL terrorists back from their strongholds in Homs and captured al-Khadhariyat hills towards Qasr al-Hayer al-Gharbi-Bardeh, which ended in the killing or wounding of dozens of the militants,” the sources said, adding, “The ISIL left behind its military equipment and fled the battlefield.”
