Report on Malfunction of Iranian Warship Denied

The Iranian Navy commander dismissed media stories about a technical failure in the engine of the Zagros destroyer.
Addressing a cultural conference in Iran’s northern port city of Noshahr on Tuesday, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said the Zagros combat reconnaissance destroyer is proudly carrying out its routine missions.
He dismissed speculations fueled by the enemies about a malfunction in the engine of the Iranian military vessel.
The combat reconnaissance destroyer joined the Navy’s southern fleet in January.
The warship, designed and manufactured by local experts, is designed to fulfill the Navy’s demands in the intelligence sector and ensure maritime security.
The Navy chief had announced in November 2024 that Zagros is a modern destroyer equipped with a hangar that can store a helicopter.
