Rabid Zionist Minister Ben-Gvir Calls on Netanyahu to ‘Level Beirut Suburbs’

Zionist Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to launch a comprehensive assault on the suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon. This call for action comes amid an escalation of hostilities by Israel against its neighbor.

In a video shared on Instagram, Ben-Gvir expressed his opposition to the ceasefire with Lebanon and called for intensified military strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

In a direct message to Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump expressed his affection, stating, “Dear Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, I love and appreciate you, but now is the time to level the suburbs to the ground.”

“The extremist minister expressed gratitude towards Trump, acknowledging the partnership and extending thanks for the collaboration,” the minister stated.

In a televised address on Saturday, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam accused Israel of implementing a “scorched-earth policy,” citing the destruction of towns and villages and the displacement of their residents.

Earlier this week, the Israeli military ramped up its assaults on Lebanon following directives from Netanyahu to intensify the offensive, further undermining the already fragile ceasefire.

In response to what they termed a breach of the ceasefire by the occupying regime, Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement, launched multiple attacks on locations in the northern region of Israeli-held territories.

During that period, Ben-Gvir advocated for a “resumption of intensive warfare” alongside increased occupation of Lebanese territory.

On March 2, Hezbollah initiated military actions against Israel in retaliation for what it describes as Israeli aggression towards Iran, continued breaches of the 2024 ceasefire agreement, and ongoing occupation of Lebanese territories in the south.

In the aftermath of the Iran-US ceasefire on April 8th, Tel Aviv found itself under pressure to agree to a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon. This development came after Tehran, in its indirect discussions with Washington, insisted that a halt to Israeli strikes on Lebanese territory was among its key demands.

The Israeli military swiftly resumed its operations in southern Lebanon, issuing evacuation warnings for various regions despite the extension of the initial ten-day ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Beirut.

Israeli military forces maintain a presence in southern Lebanon, where they have established what is referred to as the “Yellow Line,” a military buffer zone reminiscent of control measures seen in the Gaza Strip.

Lebanese officials report that since March 2, Israeli military actions have resulted in over 3,371 fatalities, with more than 10,129 individuals sustaining injuries, and have forced the displacement of over 1.6 million people.
