Qalibaf Asserts 12-Day Conflict Highlights Persistent US ‘Hostility’ Toward Iran

Iran's Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated that the recent 12-day conflict highlights the United States' persistent antagonism, emphasizing that although America's strategies may have shifted, its core objective of resisting a powerful and autonomous Iran persists.

At a Tuesday ceremony commemorating the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance, Qalibaf highlighted the historical importance of 13 Aban, equivalent to November 4, in Iran’s modern history. He connected this date to the country’s ongoing struggle against foreign influence and domination.

In a widespread show of unity, hundreds of thousands of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran and over 900 cities across the nation on Tuesday to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 US Embassy takeover. This occasion, recognized as the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance, saw significant participation throughout the country.

Qalibaf emphasized that the foundational nature of the hegemonic system persists in “blackmail and domination.” He criticized the United States for maintaining its adversarial mindset, albeit in a refreshed form.

A statement highlighted the persistent nature of hostility towards sovereign nations, particularly Iran, despite any superficial changes. This was in reference to a recent US-Israeli military engagement in June, which resulted in the deaths of senior military officials, nuclear researchers, and civilians.

Qalibaf asserted that adversaries aim to obscure their malevolent intentions by using terms such as “preemptive attack,” yet in reality, they stand against an independent and united Iran.

He asserted that the essence of 13 Aban embodies the Iranian nation’s steadfast opposition to domination and arrogance, stressing that this concept continues to be the foundation of Iran’s foreign policy, which should align with national interests.

He emphasized the ongoing animosity of the hegemonic regime, pointing out that the fundamental nature of the regime remains unchanged.

A warning has been issued, suggesting that the approach reminiscent of the Carter administration is being repeated against the Iranian nation, albeit with more sophisticated tools. It was claimed that the assassination of Iranian scientists in Tehran illustrates this mentality, with the belief that a powerful Iran should either not exist or, if it does, should not be independent.

He warned that the primary objective of the hegemonic system is merely to exert control and impose blackmail.

“The US, under Trump’s familiar approach, is attempting to negotiate and undermine the sovereignty and prosperity of the Iranian people with hollow assurances and political maneuvers,” he stated.

In a statement, Qalibaf cautioned that global powers are now engaging in psychological tactics by instilling despair and self-deprecation. He criticized Western media conglomerates for attempting to convince Iranian youth that progress cannot be achieved without reliance on Western influences.

He responded by highlighting Iran’s advancements in the fields of nuclear energy, nanotechnology, defense, and medical technologies.

He emphasized Iran’s commitment to a course marked by “authority and rationality,” grounded in faith, science, and justice, asserting that the nation would remain resilient against any pressure or sanctions.
