Oman Brokers Ceasefire Agreement Between U.S. and Houthi Rebels

Oman has declared that it successfully mediated a ceasefire agreement between Yemen’s Houthi rebels and the United States, according to official sources.

Oman made the announcement on Tuesday following a statement from Trump, indicating that the United States would cease airstrikes on Yemen. This decision was reportedly made after assurances from the Houthi Ansarullah that they would halt attacks on vessels in the Red Sea.

“They have decided to cease hostilities. Their desire to halt the conflict will be respected, and we will put an end to the bombings,” Trump stated in the Oval Office during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Tuesday.

No immediate confirmation was received from the Houthis.

Trump remarked that there would no longer be any incidents of ship explosions, highlighting the achievement of their efforts. He characterized this development as recent news, expressing optimism and viewing it as a significantly positive outcome.

On Tuesday, the Israeli military executed airstrikes in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, focusing on the city’s international airport and critical power stations.

Israeli fighter jets launched airstrikes on civilian facilities in Yemen on Tuesday, marking the second round of strikes within a 24-hour period.

The assault occurred just two days following an incident where the Yemeni Armed Forces launched a ballistic missile that successfully bypassed Israeli anti-missile defenses, landing in proximity to the main airport under the regime’s control.

Several international airlines have canceled flights after a missile strike left at least six Israeli settlers injured.

The extent of the damage inflicted on Sana’a’s international airport remains uncertain at this time.
