Massive Janfada-ye Iran Rally Draws Hundreds of Thousands in Tehran
The massive “Janfada-ye Iran” rally began in Tehran on Friday, drawing hundreds of thousands of people, including women, young people and other members of the Iranian public. Similar gatherings were held simultaneously across the country.
In Tehran, a reported 313,000-person parade is taking place from Imam Hussein Square to Enghelab Square, underscoring broad public participation in the Janfada-ye Iran campaign.
The number 313 holds particular significance in Islamic tradition. It is linked to the Battle of Badr in 624 CE, the first major battle of the early Muslim community, and is regarded as a symbol of faith and steadfastness following the community’s victory.
The rally also includes a display of Iranian drones, highlighting the country’s domestically developed unmanned aerial capabilities.
Veterans of the Sacred Defense era joined the gathering, while women and Iranian youth participated in separate sections of the parade.
Participants wearing burial shrouds also joined the rally, symbolizing their readiness to sacrifice their lives in defense of Iran.
According to General Hassan-Zadeh, commander of the Greater Tehran Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, approximately 500,000 people in Tehran had registered to attend the event.
The “Janfada-ye Iran” campaign began on March 29 following what organizers described as illegal U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran. It has since expanded into a nationwide mobilization, with organizers claiming more than 32 million participants, portraying the campaign as a symbol of faith, resilience and readiness to sacrifice in defense of the country.
