Maduro Inks Strategic Partnership Accord with Russia
On the occasion of Vladimir Putin's birthday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro signed a decree initiating the implementation of the Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with Russia.

According to an announcement made by the VTV channel on October 7.
The Venezuelan president announced that a new law will take effect as the official law of the Republic starting today. Expressing gratitude toward the National Assembly for expediting its review and debate, the president noted the occasion coincides with President Putin’s birthday. This statement was made during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Caracas, Sergey Melik-Baghdasarov.
He further underscored the significance of this legal document, which establishes a framework for bilateral collaboration over the coming decade.
In a key address at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov firmly denounced the use of coercive measures against sovereign nations as a foreign policy tactic. This statement was made during a meeting with Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Hill, emphasizing the critical importance of respecting national sovereignty.
