Israeli occupation begins new excavations to falsify history of occupied Golan and steal its antiquities

Occupied Syrian Golan, SANA- The Israeli occupation authorities have launched illegal archaeological excavations in the Syrian village of Bab al-Hawa, in an attempt to falsify the history of the occupied Syrian Golan and steal its antiquities.

These excavations constitute a further violation of the United Nations resolutions, foremost of which is the Security Council Resolution No. 497 of 1981, which confirms that all Israeli measures on Golan are null and void.

The village of Bab al-Hawa is located in a rugged volcanic area north of Tel al-Aram, and was destroyed by the occupation during its aggression in 1967 along with more than 240 other Syrian villages and farms.

The occupation authorities had carried out excavations at the site years ago and found sarcophagi dating from prehistoric times, as well as ceramics from the Byzantine era.

The occupation excavations in the village come 20 days after the occupation had announced a scheme to bulldoze the remaining homes s in the town of Ein Fitt and turn it into a military site for his forces, despite the Golan people’s rejection of the scheme aims to obliterate the Syrian Arab identity of village.
