The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) conveyed a message on Thursday honoring the fallen leader of the Basij forces. He lauded the late commander as a true embodiment of the Islamic Revolution, whose enduring legacy is expected to inspire generations to come.

In a statement directed to the people of Iran, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and the martyr’s family, it was highlighted that the life of the martyred commander is deeply intertwined with the history of the Islamic Republic.
A senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps praised General Soleimani, describing him as a leader molded by the teachings of the Revolution’s two central figures: the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, and his successor, Martyr Imam Khamenei.
The description portrayed him as “the embodiment of the jihadi and revolutionary spirit.”
Originating from the esteemed and resilient region of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, General Soleimani was celebrated as a distinguished figure, shining brightly like a jewel adorning the crown of the valiant city of Shahrekord.
The statement highlighted his ongoing service since the eight-year Sacred Defense era, depicting him as a “courageous, committed, and strategically insightful” leader in a range of command roles to this day.
General Vahidi underscored General Soleimani’s leadership during his time at the helm of the Basij Organization, a volunteer paramilitary group, lauding his “prudence, creativity, and transformative management.” Vahidi attributed significant strategic and operational innovations to Soleimani’s guidance.
He emphasized that the fallen commander was instrumental in enhancing the role of the Basij, allowing it to better support the underprivileged and oppressed groups, especially during crucial historical periods and times of national and revolutionary necessity.
In addition to his official accomplishments, the statement highlighted the personal attributes that characterized General Soleimani’s enduring legacy. Vahedi portrayed his legacy as embodying “a spirit of sacrifice, humility, sincerity, and unwavering determination in action, coupled with a profound dedication to the principles of Islam and the Revolution.”
The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that this legacy “will be eternally etched in the historical memory of the Iranian nation, especially among the custodians of the Revolution and the youth of both today and the future.”
