Iran’s Nasir, Qadir, and Qader Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles Successfully Hit Targets During Sustainable Power 1404 Drills

The Iranian Navy's missile systems and naval units have effectively neutralized their maritime surface targets, deploying the Qadir and Nasir cruise missiles alongside the Qader medium-range anti-ship cruise missile.

Three cruise missiles were launched in a synchronized operation from the Genaveh missile-launching vessel and the Sabalan destroyer.

The Iranian Navy commenced a significant two-day naval missile exercise on Thursday, known as Sustainable Power 1404, spanning the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman.

In a key phase of the military exercise, naval cruise missiles of varying ranges were launched from Navy surface vessels, effectively striking their designated targets in the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman.

The Qader is a medium-range anti-ship cruise missile known for its radar evasion capabilities and significant destructive power. It boasts exceptional targeting accuracy, making it effective against both naval vessels and coastal targets.

In August 2011, Iran introduced the Qader missile, boasting a range of 300 kilometers. It stands as one of the Iranian Navy’s most formidable and precise missile systems.

The Qadir missile stands out as a long-range, radar-evasive anti-ship cruise missile, boasting high destructive capabilities and precision targeting, making it effective against naval vessels. Meanwhile, the Nasir missile shares these advanced features as a cruise missile but is designed for short-range operations.

The Sustainable Power 1404 exercises showcase an extensive range of naval operations featuring surface and underwater ships, aerial units, coastal-to-sea and maritime missile systems, along with electronic warfare technologies.

Admiral Abbas Hassani announced on Wednesday that they plan to test an array of precision-guided cruise missiles, spanning short, medium, and long-range capabilities, aimed at striking and neutralizing surface targets.

He stated that the operation’s objective is to bolster combat preparedness, improve strategic planning and command proficiency, and showcase deterrence capabilities.

Iran’s naval capabilities have seen substantial growth in recent years, enabling it to undertake operations well beyond its territorial boundaries. The Iranian Navy has consistently conducted exercises to enhance its missile and drone proficiencies.

The Navy emphasized its expanding capabilities and involvement in multinational exercises as a clear signal to adversaries, notably the United States, that Iran is steadfast in opposing foreign interference in regional matters. The statement underscores the contention surrounding U.S. military presence in the West Asia region.

The Islamic Republic has issued a stern warning, stating that any threats to its maritime security will be countered with swift and decisive action.
