Iran slams Israeli attacks on Lebanon, warn UNSC’s inaction to embolden occupying regime

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has denounced Israel’s latest attacks on Lebanon, saying the United Nations Security Council’s inaction on the occupying regime’s crimes will discredit the world body.
In a statement on Monday, Baghaei strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s savage attacks on southern Lebanon and south Dhahiyah, which killed more than 30 civilians, including two children, and injured 149 others.
He also offered his condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs and the Lebanese government and nation.
“Inaction of the United Nations and its Security Council in the face of the crimes and unruly behaviors of the occupying regime will irreparably discredit the United Nations system and its norms,” he warned.
At least 31 people were killed in attacks by Israel across southern Lebanon following Hezbollah’s entry into the front line in defense of Iran.
He added that the Israeli regime has intensified its crimes and acts of aggression in blatant violation of Lebanon’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity and the November 2024 ceasefire agreement.
The Iranian spokesperson slammed the “disgraceful” silence of the so-called advocates of the “rule of law” and “human rights” on the most heinous crimes and grave violations of human rights perpetrated by the Israeli regime.
Baghaei cautioned that the world’ inaction vis-à-vis Israel’s crimes has further emboldened the regime to press ahead with its criminal acts and posed an unprecedented danger to global peace.
