Hezbollah Calls on Lebanese Government for Decisive Action Against Israeli Aggression

Sheikh Abdul Majeed Ammar, Hezbollah’s Islamic Relations Official, released a statement on Tuesday vehemently denouncing what he described as the treacherous and cowardly crime committed by the Israeli enemy in the assassination of Sheikh Hussein Atwi, a senior commander in Lebanon’s Islamic Group (Al-Jama’a Al-Islamiyya).

This incident occurs amid the ongoing aggression and infringement of Lebanese sovereignty by adversarial forces, as they continue efforts to weaken the resistance movement, irrespective of its affiliations. The statement further emphasized the solidarity within the resistance initiative against a shared adversary.

In a recent statement, Sheikh Ammar extended heartfelt condolences and sincere congratulations on behalf of Hezbollah to Al-Jama’a Al-Islamiyya and the family of the martyr. He prayed for divine mercy to be bestowed upon the fallen individual, along with all martyrs and the virtuous.

“The continued perpetration of offenses by the adversary, under transparent American support and endorsement, stems from the inactivity of the states backing the ceasefire agreement and the international community’s inability to uphold its obligations,” the statement asserted, “This merely incentivizes the adversary to persist in its ruthless actions unabated.”

In a statement this afternoon in the southern town of Hanniyeh, Sheikh Ammar highlighted the continued aggression that led to the loss of one life and left several individuals injured. He urged the Lebanese state to fully embrace its national duties and move beyond a passive stance in the face of such events.

A Hezbollah official has emphasized that the Lebanese government should move beyond merely issuing ineffective condemnatory statements, which have not succeeded in deterring adversaries. The official urged the government to take decisive, immediate actions across all levels and employ every available measure.
