Defense Minister Warns of Iran’s Massive Response to Any Strike

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh hit back at his American counterpart for threatening Iran, warning that any act of aggression will unleash a fierce reaction that would include Iranian weapons never used before.

In comments on Sunday evening, the Iranian defense minister dismissed his US counterpart’s rhetoric of military action against Iran, advising the novice US secretary of defense to study the history of the Islamic Revolution to realize that he cannot speak to Iran with the language of threat.

Should a war be imposed on Iran, the country will employ weapons that have never been used before, General Nasirzadeh warned.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has plenty of (arms) reserves in its missile cities. In case of an imposed war (on Iran), it will use them against the targets across the region without hesitation or consideration,” the minister stated.

The defense minister emphasized that Iran feels no hostility toward the neighbors and maintains brotherly ties with them, but noted that any military attack against Iran will turn the American bases in the regional countries into legitimate targets.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has never started a war and will not initiate fighting in future either, the general stressed, warning, however, that it will respond strongly to any military attack.

If the war is initiated by the US or the Zionist regime, Iran will strike their bases, forces and interests wherever they may be and whenever it deems necessary, he underlined, saying the Defense Ministry is constantly improving the capabilities of the Iranian ground, air and naval forces.

He further pointed to the recent regional developments and dismissed the allegations against Iran following the Yemeni missile attacks against the Israeli regime.

“Yemen is an independent state as they make decisions by themselves. This issue has nothing to do with the Islamic Republic of Iran. I recommend the US to avoid crating crisis in the region, because the Islamic Republic of Iran is not responsible for the downing of an American plane due to the movement of aircraft carrier in the Red Sea,” General Nasirzadeh stated.
