Ansarullah: US, Israel orchestrated violence in Iran over support for Palestine

A prominent figure within Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement has accused the United States and Israel of being instrumental in the recent violent disturbances in Iran. The senior member argued that Iran's defiance against Western influence and its unwavering support for Palestine have rendered the country a target of aggression initiated by external forces.

Mohammed al-Farah, a representative of Ansarullah’s political bureau, expressed on Wednesday that Iran has become a target due to its steadfast opposition to U.S. colonialism, the actions of the Zionist regime, and its support for oppressed nations, particularly the Palestinians.

He stated that the individuals responsible for extensive damage to both public and private properties, along with crucial infrastructure, were equipped and supported by Washington and Tel Aviv, acting under their guidance.

Farah emphasized that Iran has emerged as a pivotal force and significant influencer within the Muslim world, warning that any aggressive actions against it could potentially lead to increased attacks on other Islamic entities.

A senior representative of Ansarullah highlighted that the recent disturbances in Iran are setting the stage for a significant and extensive conflict—a crucial confrontation with repercussions already impacting regimes that have opted for reconciliation or capitulation to the United States.

Recent unrest was sparked by initially peaceful and sporadic protests led by merchants in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar. These demonstrations were in response to fluctuations in the national currency and rising inflation. These economic challenges have been largely attributed to sanctions imposed unlawfully on the Iranian populace, particularly by the United States and several European nations, including Britain.

The protests continued to be peaceful over the course of a week, during which President Masoud Pezeshkian and his administration engaged in discussions with representatives of the protesters to understand their demands.

On January 8, the dynamics changed as orchestrated violence, seemingly driven by foreign-backed agitators and saboteurs, overshadowed the initially peaceful demonstrations regarding economic concerns.

Armed rioters and saboteurs launched assaults on public properties such as shops, banks, bus stations, and mosques, resulting in the deaths of several security personnel who attempted to restore order.

Authorities in the country have acquired evidence indicating that foreign-sponsored terrorist organizations have been utilizing and distributing weaponry, intentionally targeting civilians and security personnel.

Israel and the United States have been held accountable for acts of terrorism and vandalism that have led to the deaths of numerous security personnel and civilians.

Top government officials have called on the public to maintain a safe distance from armed rioters and individuals labeled as terrorists. Meanwhile, the judiciary has firmly stated that there will be “no leniency” for those found guilty of terrorism and vandalism targeting public property.

Authorities have yet to release an official estimate on the precise number of casualties stemming from the ongoing riots.
