Al-Quds Brigades Ambush in Tulkarm Claims Zionist Officer, Soldiers’ Lives

The Al-Quds Brigades – Tulkarm Brigade announced that its fighters killed an officer and three Israeli soldiers north of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, after they opened fire on a car they were traveling in.

This came hours after the Israeli occupation army announced the killing of a non-commissioned officer from the commando forces and the wounding of an officer and a soldier in an operation in a monastery in Bazia, Ramallah.

The Tulkarm Battalion said in a statement that its fighters set up an ambush at the monastery gate, north of the city of Tulkarm, where they monitored the movements of the occupation army after setting up the ambush. Immediately upon the arrival of a vehicle carrying an officer and 3 soldiers, they opened direct fire on them and finished them off, which led to their vehicle overturning, and the resistance fighters withdrew from the area peacefully, according to the statement.

The battalion confirmed that this operation was a response to the assassination of resistance fighters in the Nour Shams and Jenin camps, sending a message to the occupation that the resistance is united.

Following the operation, a march took place in the Nour Shams camp in Tulkarm, which included chants in support of the Palestinian resistance and calling for more strikes against the occupation.

Resistance activities continued in the West Bank during the past 24 hours, with 15 operations taking place, including clashes, shootings, and the detonation of explosive devices.

The Palestine Information Center “Maati” documented two shooting operations, armed clashes, two explosions of explosive devices, and two Molotov cocktails and firecrackers targeting occupation soldiers and settlers in various areas in the West Bank.

In a similar development, the Tubas Brigade in the occupied West Bank released footage showing a car bomb being detonated by an Israeli military bulldozer, as part of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle.

In a statement, the brigade announced that its fighters engaged an enemy force on Al-Thaghra Street, unleashing a barrage of heavy gunfire.

Campaign of Raids and Arrests

Tonight and at dawn today, Sunday, March 24, 2024, the Israeli occupation forces launched a campaign of raids, incursions, and arrests in various areas of the West Bank, arresting at least 16 Palestinians, including a child and former prisoners, while confrontations broke out between the Palestinians and the Israeli forces in various areas of the West Bank.

The Prisoners’ and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club explained in a joint statement that the arrest operations were distributed across the governorates of Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Tulkarm, and Jerusalem, and were accompanied by widespread acts of abuse, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread acts of sabotage and destruction of citizens’ homes.

The statement indicated that the total number of arrests since October 7 has risen to more than 7,755 detainees, including those arrested from homes and through military checkpoints, those who surrendered themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.

Since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the army has escalated its raids and arrests in the West Bank, leading to 450 martyrs and about 4,750 wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
