Sayyed al-Houthi: Saudi Regime Committed War Crimes in Yemen
TEHRAN, Sept. 21 (MNA) — Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi accused Saudi Arabia of committing war crimes in Yemen, saying the country’s Sept. 21 revolution had secured freedom and independence.
In a televised speech aired Monday to mark the anniversary of the 2014 revolution, al-Houthi said Saudi actions in Yemen amounted to war crimes.
He set out conditions before the revolution had established the need for such a movement, emphasizing that Yemen had lost its independence and come under foreign control.
The Yemeni leader said the US ambassador had wielded considerable influence over decision-making in Yemen before the revolution, while US forces had established bases, including in the capital, Sanaa.
Al-Houthi said the confrontation with the United States and its aligned forces would continue as long as Washington pursued control over Yemen and sought to transform the country into a network of military bases.
