Iran’s IRGC Targets US Ships in Strait of Hormuz, Asserts Tehran’s Control Over Strategic Waterway

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) engaged in targeting operations involving a U.S. aircraft carrier as well as an American destroyer.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched an attack on a U.S. aircraft carrier, an American destroyer, and an unmanned vessel. These assets were reportedly involved in a naval blockade conducted by Washington against the Islamic Republic.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Public Relations Department of the IRGC announced that it targeted a Remotely Operated Vessel (ROV) associated with the US military along Iran’s southern coastline.

According to a statement released by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a vessel aiming to cross into the restricted zone of the Strait of Hormuz was intercepted. The strategic waterway has been under Iranian control since the onset of hostilities involving the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reinforced that the Strait of Hormuz is under the administration of Iran, cautioning that any action by what they termed the “child-killing enemy” would be met with a decisive reaction.

Earlier on Saturday, the Aerospace Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired multiple ballistic missiles at a US aircraft carrier and an American destroyer, both involved in a naval blockade imposed by Washington on the Islamic Republic. The missile attack prompted the naval vessels to retreat.

The force announced on Saturday that it conducted a counterattack on vessels associated with the US military, which it accused of harassing Iranian vessels and contributing to a blockade. The statement described the US military as “child-killing” and an “aggressor.”

The report further stated that the two warships, after incurring damage and anticipating further retaliation, were compelled to withdraw from the conflict zone.

The US Central Command has confirmed that the vessels were subjected to “multiple” Iranian attacks.

In response to the announcement from CENTCOM, the IRGC declared that the admission of this operation serves as tangible evidence of what they describe as the adversary’s strategic failure, further underscoring the offensive strength of the IRGC.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared that its members, along with the entirety of Iran’s Armed Forces, maintain a steadfast commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and security of the Islamic Republic.

“If hostile and aggressive actions persist, the United States should prepare for substantial retaliatory measures from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The nation asserts its strengthened position and declares that victory is assured for the determined people of Iran, while defeat and remorse await the aggressors.”

Previously, the IRGC revealed new footage showing its assertive measures against non-compliant ships in the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to counter U.S. claims that it was facilitating the transit of vessels accused of trespassing through the strategic waterway.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a warning, labeling the United States as the foremost threat to the security of regional nations and maritime commerce. The IRGC further criticized U.S. support and escort operations, dismissing them as mere fabrications.
