Zionist airstrikes across southern Lebanon kill 17, including two infants

At least 17 people, including two infants, were killed and 20 others injured in Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon over the past 48 hours, as Israel continues to carry out daily violations of a US-brokered framework agreement.

Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli warplanes struck and destroyed a three-story residential building in Kafr Rouman, Nabatieh governorate, after midnight.

Emergency crews recovered nine bodies, including two infants, from the rubble, while five others were injured.

Separately, an Israeli drone struck a civilian vehicle in the same Lebanese town, killing two paramedics from the Islamic Risala Scout Association who were inside.

Israeli warplanes carried out a series of strikes on the Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Arabsalim areas, destroying a house.

Moreover, Israeli warplanes destroyed a building in the town of Deir al-Zahrani after the Israeli army issued an evacuation order.

International community urged to halt relentless Israeli aggression

Lebanese Minister of State for Administrative Reform Fadi Makki urged the international community and people worldwide who support freedom to take concrete steps to halt Israel’s ongoing aggression and violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Makki condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, asking how long the aggression against the region and its people would continue and how much longer Lebanon would be forced to bear the cost.

He said civilians, including women and children, were being killed in attacks across towns and villages in southern Lebanon, including Mayfadoun, Ramadiyeh, Nabatieh and Arabsalim, while residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were being destroyed.

Makki said the Israeli military’s strike on Salah Ghandour Hospital in the southern town of Bint Jbeil several days ago represented “the height of barbarity and vileness.”

Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon have intensified in recent days after the Israeli military said it intercepted a drone allegedly launched by Hezbollah and aimed at its troops in an area Tel Aviv refers to as a “security zone.”

The strikes come despite a U.S.-sponsored framework agreement signed on June 26 between the Beirut government and the Tel Aviv regime.

The agreement calls for a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory alongside the deployment of the Lebanese army.

The secretary-general of the Lebanese resistance movement, Sheikh Naim Qassem, rejected the agreement as illegitimate, unlawful and humiliating.

Hezbollah said it launched military operations against Israel on March 2 in response to what it described as US-Israeli aggression against Iran, repeated Israeli violations of the 2024 ceasefire, and Israel’s ongoing occupation of Lebanese territory in the south.

Since then, despite months of negotiations, Israel has continued its military campaign in Lebanon, killing 4,362 people and injuring 12,378 others, while displacing more than 1 million, according to Lebanese authorities.

Israel continues to occupy parts of southern Lebanon, including areas it has held for decades and territory seized during the 2023–2024 war. Its forces have also advanced more than 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory during the current offensive.
