Reports on Saturday indicated that the two individuals were killed in separate Israeli drone strikes on Salah al-Din Street and Al-Mahatta Street in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza. The incidents also left several others injured. Israeli attacks on locations such as the Khadija Mosque in Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, Al-Maghazi refugee camp, Al-Saftawi area of Gaza City, and Al-Shuhada Mosque in Nuseirat refugee camp resulted in at least 10 Palestinian injuries. On Saturday morning, the Quds News Network reported Israeli airstrikes near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, while an Israeli quadcopter drone fired upon Palestinians in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Additional injuries from Israeli gunfire occurred in Rafah, Khan Younis, and Jabalia on Friday. That same day, an Israeli drone strike targeting an electric bicycle in Gaza City’s Al-Sabra neighborhood claimed the life of one Palestinian. Official reports have revealed that over 1,200 Palestinians, the majority of whom were civilians, have lost their lives as a result of Israeli military actions since the ceasefire commenced in October of the previous year. In a recent development, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have established conditions for a Gaza truce subsequent to Trump’s assertion of a disarmament agreement. A prominent Hamas leader stated that the group’s willingness to disarm hinges on the removal of Israeli military presence from the Gaza Strip’s occupied areas and the rebuilding of the heavily damaged region.
Israeli military operations have resulted in the deaths of at least 73,341 Palestinians and injuries to 174,086 others, amid widespread destruction of approximately 90% of the region’s civilian infrastructure. On Friday, Israeli forces conducted raids in various areas of the occupied West Bank, with more than a dozen Palestinians reportedly detained in the territory. Among those detained were 13 Palestinians during operations in the Nablus and Al-Khalil governorates, with a particular raid on a residence in the town of Dura, south of Al-Khalil, as reported by WAFA. The West Bank has seen a marked increase in military and settler-related incidents since October 2023.
