Iran suspends US message exchange over Israeli attacks on Lebanon
Iran has suspended indirect talks with the United States, citing continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon and violations of the ceasefire framework.

Iran has suspended negotiations and the exchange of messages with the United States through mediators due to the continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
The agency reported that since Lebanon had been included among the key conditions underpinning the ceasefire agreement, and the truce has since been violated across multiple fronts, including Lebanon. Tehran has therefore decided to halt diplomatic engagement with Washington until its concerns are addressed.
The move comes as “Israel” continues to carry out attacks across Lebanon and maintain its occupation of areas in the country’s South despite the ceasefire agreement, which Tehran says explicitly included the Lebanese front. Earlier on Monday, Israeli occupation authorities threatened further escalation by issuing evacuation orders for Beirut’s Southern Suburb and announcing plans for new strikes on the capital.
Tasnim said Iranian officials and negotiators are demanding an immediate end to Israeli aggressions in both Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Lebanese territory.
According to the report, no further negotiations will take place unless Iran’s position and that of the Resistance regarding these issues are addressed.
Tasnim also reported that Iran and the Resistance Axis have placed on their agenda the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the activation of other fronts, including the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, as part of measures aimed at responding to “Israel” and its allies.
Iran demands ceasefire compliance
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed earlier today that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States applies to all fronts without exception, including Lebanon.
He said any violation on one front should be considered a violation of the ceasefire as a whole and held both the United States and “Israel” responsible for the consequences of any breach.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also expressed concern over developments in the region, including ceasefire violations in Lebanon, the continued displacement of Lebanese civilians, and US support for Israeli actions.
During a phone call with Japan’s prime minister, Pezeshkian urged the international community to assume its responsibilities and take meaningful action to halt the escalation.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, for his part, said that the US naval blockade on Iran and the escalation of Israeli aggression against Lebanon demonstrate Washington’s failure to uphold the ceasefire.
“Every choice has a price, and the bill will inevitably come due… everything will return to its proper place,” Ghalibaf said.
Iranian Armed Forces issue warning
Separately, a spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces General Staff condemned Western silence over Israeli actions in Lebanon, arguing that the occupation had exploited the ceasefire to intensify its attacks on Lebanese territory.
The spokesperson warned Israeli leaders and their allies against continuing such actions, stressing that the continuation of Israeli aggression against Lebanon would be unacceptable to the Iranian Armed Forces.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei also reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and the Lebanese Resistance.
“The United States and Israel cannot be viewed as separate parties. The United States is undoubtedly a central participant in everything that takes place in Lebanon,” Baghaei said.
