The United States has bolstered its military presence at bases across the Middle East by approximately 10,000 troops since February, raising the total number of personnel in the region to 50,000, according to a report by The New York Times, citing unnamed sources. This expansion comes against the backdrop of ongoing tensions with Iran.
Reports indicate that prior to the commencement of military operations against Iran, approximately 40,000 U.S. forces were deployed across bases located in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
The deployment of U.S. military forces in the region has now surpassed the 50,000 mark.
Amid ongoing diplomatic efforts at both international and regional levels, Iran and the United States are working towards reaching an agreement for the permanent end of hostilities.
