US ‘Rescue’ Operation Resulted in Destruction of F-15 Aircraft Valued Over $100 Million apiece
Two aircraft employed by the US military in the operation to rescue a crew member from a downed F-15 Eagle were subsequently destroyed by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). Each of these aircraft carried a cost exceeding $100 million.

Two U.S. military aircraft utilized in the mission to rescue a crew member from a downed F-15 Eagle were later destroyed by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). Each aircraft had a valuation exceeding $100 million.
The US Air Force Special Operations Command reported that two MC-130J aircraft were deployed to facilitate the rescue of a second US airman.
The aircraft in question are sophisticated models engineered to deploy personnel into hostile areas and subsequently extract them. They are equipped with cutting-edge sensors that provide defense against air-defense interceptors, including heat-seeking systems, and they possess the capability to be refueled while in flight.
Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, commented on the aircraft incident, stating, “If the United States experiences three more such ‘victories,’ it will face complete devastation.”
In a communication issued on Sunday, the Public Relations Department of the IRGC announced that following attempts by US forces to rescue the pilot of a downed fighter jet and the subsequent entry of aerial objects into Iran’s central regions, those objects were destroyed, resulting in another significant setback for the United States. Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Qalibaf, commented on the incident involving the US aircraft downed in southern Isfahan, stating that if the United States experiences three more setbacks like this, it would be completely devastated.
The announcement followed Trump’s statement on social media, claiming that the U.S. military successfully captured the pilot during an operation, just a day after a previous pilot rescue.
The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, announced that attempts by adversaries to recover the pilot of the downed aircraft were unsuccessful. This outcome, he noted, was attributed to divine providence, precise timing, and the coordinated efforts of the IRGC, Army, Basij, and police forces.
He reported that opposition aircraft, such as two Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 transport plane, are engulfed in flames.
In late February, the United States and Israel initiated a series of military actions against Iran, targeting 30 locations across Tehran. This operation also resulted in the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, along with multiple high-ranking Iranian officials.
In response, Iranian military forces have launched a robust counteroffensive, firing waves of missiles and deploying drones targeting Israeli-controlled areas and United States bases throughout the region.
