IRGC arrests 10 foreign spies in northeastern Iran

The intelligence unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the arrest of 10 foreign spies accused of gathering information on sensitive sites and preparing field operations in northeastern Iran, according to Tasnim News Agency.

The Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported that the IRGC’s intelligence branch in Razavi Khorasan Province confirmed it had “identified and arrested 10 mercenaries and traitors,” without specifying their nationalities.

The IRGC stated that four of them were collecting information on “sensitive sites and economic infrastructure,” while the others were linked to a “royalist terrorist group.”

The arrests come as Iran continues to confront external threats amid the ongoing US-Israeli aggression against the country. US intelligence officials previously warned that strikes on Iran could ultimately strengthen the country’s leadership, even as Washington pressed ahead with military action.

According to recent reporting, US President Donald Trump received “very sobering briefings” ahead of authorizing strikes on Iran, including warnings that the IRGC would likely emerge stronger. Sources told The Washington Post that the outcome “was predicted. He was told in advance.”

Despite intelligence assessments casting doubt on changing Iran’s leadership, US and Israeli forces have continued their aggression across the region.

Meanwhile, thousands have gathered in Tehran’s Revolution Square and other Iranian cities to condemn the US-Israeli aggression, expressing support for the country’s leadership and armed forces. Popular rallies have been held daily, reflecting broad public mobilization in support of the Islamic Revolution and the country’s political leadership.

The demonstrations send a message of internal resilience, indicating that external pressure and military escalation have failed to fracture Iranian society.
