Iran’s government declares 40 days of mourning over Leader’s martyrdom

The Iranian government declared 40 days of mourning and 7 days of public holidays over the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamenei in terrorist US-Israeli strikes.

In a statement released on Sunday, the government hailed Ayatollah Khamenei for acting as the “flag bearer of the Islamic Front” over the past more than 37 years and marking a new chapter in the history of Islam with his exemplary courage and firm faith.

Until the last moment of his blessed life, Ayatollah Khamenei led the Islamic Ummah against infidelity, tyranny and arrogance, it added.

The Leader was “a symbol of self-sacrifice and resistance in the present age, as well as Imam of sincere promises, hope and authority in the minds of the world’s freedom-seeking and oppressed people, along with those fighting for the sake of God.”

It also enumerated comprehensiveness, mastery of modern sciences, wisdom, foresight, pure faith, sincerity in action, strong will, unparalleled courage, extensive religious knowledge, pure spirit, hope and trust in the Almighty, and deep belief in words, deeds and goals as the features of Ayatollah Khamenei’s personality.

The government further expressed sympathy with the Iranian nation over the incident, saying, “This great crime will never go unanswered and will mark a new chapter in the Islamic and Shia history.”

“The pure blood of this high-ranking official will… eradicate American-Zionist oppression and crime. This time, too, we will make those who perpetrated and ordered this major crime regret, using all our might and strength, and with the support of the Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world,” it noted.

IRGC: ‘Harsh, decisive, regret-inducing’ revenge awaits killers

Additionally, on Sunday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) congratulated and condoled the great Iranian nation on the martyrdom of the Leader.

The martyrdom for the sake of Islam and Iran is a sign of a victory, it stressed, vowing that Ayatollah Khamenei’s path will continue.

“The criminal and terrorist act of the wicked US and the Zionist regime violates obvious religious, moral, legal and customary standards; therefore, the Iranian nation’s hand of revenge will punish the Leader’s killers in a harsh, decisive, and regret-inducing manner,” it said.

The IRGC, along with other Iranian Armed forces, will continue the Leader’s legacy and stand against foreign and domestic conspiracies.

Iran’s Army: US-Israeli crime won’t go unpunished

Similarly, the Iranian Army emphasized in a statement that the Iranian nation and the Armed Forces will not let the US-Israeli crime go answered.“With the blessing of God, the shiny path of the martyred Leader will continue to the last gasp,” it added. “The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran is standing in the front line of the defense of the country’s independence, territorial integrity and the sacred establishment.”
