Hamas Receives No Disarmament Deadline Amid Zionst Threats of Renewed Conflict

Hamas has stated that it has not been given a 60-day ultimatum to relinquish all its weapons. This comes as Israel issues a warning of a potential resurgence of conflict in the Gaza Strip should the Palestinian resistance group decline to disarm.

Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi stated on Monday evening that they have not been informed or notified by ceasefire mediators, including the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, about any deadline for the disarmament of the resistance group in Gaza.

He stated that the continuous Israeli violations and aggressive actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank are components of the regime’s strategy to forcibly displace the populations in Gaza.

In a recent statement, Israeli cabinet secretary Yossi Fuchs announced at a conference in al-Quds that the Israeli government has issued a 60-day ultimatum for Hamas to fully disarm. Failure to comply with this demand, he indicated, could lead to a resumption of military operations against the Palestinian group.

Fuchs stated that Hamas “will be required to relinquish all of its weapons, including firearms,” noting that this timeline was prompted by a request from the US administration and that Israel is “adhering to this directive.”

The precise start of the ultimatum remains uncertain; however, Fuchs indicated that it might begin with the February 19 assembly of Trump’s Board of Peace.

“We will assess the situation. If it proves effective, that’s excellent. However, if it does not, then the Israeli Defense Forces will need to fulfill the mission,” Fuchs remarked.

Authorities in Gaza report that Israeli forces have allegedly breached the ceasefire agreement numerous times since its implementation on October 10 of the previous year. The violations have reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 603 Palestinians and injuries to 1,618 others.

A ceasefire agreement, intended to end a brutal Israeli military campaign that began on October 8, 2023, and spanned two years, is reportedly being violated by ongoing Israeli strikes and attacks.

Palestinian officials report that a devastating campaign has claimed the lives of over 72,000 Palestinians, leaving more than 171,000 individuals injured. The assault has caused significant destruction, impacting 90% of civilian infrastructure. The United Nations estimates that the cost of reconstruction will reach approximately $70 billion.
