IRGC Navy Prepared for Strait of Hormuz Blockade Pending Orders: Commander
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, led by Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, has announced its readiness to close the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz upon directive from the nation's top leadership.

Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, leading the central phase of an exercise in the Strait of Hormuz known as “Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz,” announced that any potential closure of the crucial maritime passageway is contingent upon the decisions made by Iran’s highest authorities.
The commander asserted that the soldiers stand prepared to execute their duties whenever instructed by their superiors.
He noted that the armaments deployed during wartime differ significantly from those showcased during military drills.
During the “Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz” exercise, maritime traffic through the strategic waterway was temporarily halted for several hours on Tuesday.
The second phase of the naval exercise took place, featuring the involvement of the IRGC Navy’s combat and rapid response units. The operation was designed to bolster security and ensure safe maritime transit.
A range of defensive and offensive systems and weapons were utilized in the exercise, and military experts on site reported that these successfully hit their designated targets with exceptional accuracy.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy executed high-speed missile-launching operations, deploying missiles both from inland locations and from the Iranian coasts and islands in the Persian Gulf. These missiles successfully targeted designated areas within the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Drone units have conducted exercises involving both offensive and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles in environments with signal-jamming. The exercises successfully targeted both stationary and mobile objectives with precision.
