Hezbollah Denounces ‘Treacherous Assassination’ of Al-Housh Mosque Imam by Killer ‘israel’

Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement, has issued a strong condemnation of what it describes as Israel's "treacherous assassination" of Ali Nour al-Deen. Al-Deen, who was serving as the imam of Al-Housh Mosque, was also recognized as a journalist.

An Israeli drone operation in the Al-Housh region of Tyre District, situated in southern Lebanon, resulted in the death of al-Deen on Monday.

Hezbollah’s Media Relations Office has issued a statement classifying the attack as a war crime.

Hezbollah issued a statement condemning what it described as the adversary’s ongoing history of severe crimes committed against journalists, civilians, and humanity at large.

The statement referred to al-Deen as a “martyred journalist” and imam, highlighting an escalation by Israel in attacks intended to suppress media voices and freedom of speech.

Hezbollah has denounced the strike, labeling it as part of a systematic campaign against journalists, civilians, and humanity. They are calling on Lebanese and international media organizations, unions, and human rights groups to publicly condemn the attack and to demand an end to what they described as “Zionist barbarism.”

The statement urged journalists, the Ministry of Information, media organizations, unions, institutions, and political and intellectual figures to actively and vocally address the alleged Zionist aggression in local, Arab, and international platforms. It specifically highlighted the importance of engagement within human rights, legal, and humanitarian forums to halt these actions.

The resistance movement has expressed its condolences to the family of al-Deen and to members of the Lebanese media community.

On Monday, Israeli forces initiated a fresh assault in southern Lebanon, marking another breach of the ceasefire agreement with Beirut.

An assault was launched on the town of Nabatiyeh in the southern region, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

Earlier, an assault on a civilian vehicle in Tyre resulted in the death of a journalist and left two others injured. Additionally, a marble factory located in the town of Markaba was subjected to an attack.

The latest strikes represent an ongoing extension of the regime’s harsh offensive against Lebanon, resulting in more than 10,000 breaches of the ceasefire since November and at least 352 Lebanese casualties.

The strike took place as Israeli military operations persist in southern Lebanon, following near-daily activities since a ceasefire was declared in November 2024 between Israel and Hezbollah. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 4,000 individuals and injuries to an additional 17,000.

Under the ceasefire agreement, Israeli military was expected to conduct a full withdrawal from southern Lebanon. However, they have only executed a partial pullout, continuing to maintain a military presence at five outposts.
