Iranian Forces Achieve ‘Highest Level’ of Readiness as IRGC Responds to US Threats
Iran's IRGC Ground Force Commander, Brigadier General Mohammad Karami, has announced that Iranian armed forces are on heightened alert. This development comes in response to what has been described as U.S. threats of military aggression amidst ongoing foreign-backed unrest in the country.

In a statement to reporters on Thursday, Karami highlighted that Iran is facing a “comprehensive and hybrid war” being conducted on various fronts, including the economic, social, political, and cyber spheres.
Karami emphasized their preparedness, asserting that their readiness is at the utmost level.
The commander emphasized the unity and cohesion within Iran’s armed forces as they stand ready to address any potential acts of aggression.
Amidst a week of foreign-influenced unrest in Iran, recent comments arrive as the turmoil has resulted in the deaths of several security personnel and civilians.
The unrest originated with modest and intermittent demonstrations by merchants in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar. These protests were spurred by fluctuations in the national currency and increasing inflation, conditions predominantly influenced by sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States and several European nations, including Britain.
The protests maintained their peaceful nature for an entire week, a period during which President Masoud Pezeshkian and his administration engaged in discussions with protester representatives to address their demands.
On January 8, the landscape altered dramatically as orchestrated and intentional violence overshadowed the previously peaceful demonstrations rooted in economic grievances. The disruptions were reportedly carried out by foreign-backed rioters and saboteurs.
Armed rioters and saboteurs launched assaults on public properties, targeting shops, banks, bus stations, and mosques, while also causing fatalities among security personnel who intervened to restore order.
Authorities within the country have acquired evidence indicating that terrorist groups with foreign support have utilized and dispersed weaponry, intentionally targeting civilians and security forces.
They attribute direct responsibility for the acts of terrorism and vandalism to Israel and the United States.
Meanwhile, Trump has consistently issued threats of military action against Iran.
Karami’s remarks echo previous cautions from the Chief Commander of the IRGC, Major General Mohammad Pakpour, who similarly emphasized the military’s preparedness to react decisively to any misjudgments by external forces such as the United States and Israel.
On Wednesday, Pakpour stated that the influential and widely supported IRGC is fully prepared to deliver a decisive retaliation in response to any miscalculations by adversaries and their domestic operatives reminiscent of Daesh.
