Hezbollah Vows Retaliation to Israeli Aggression; Iran Affirms Support for Lebanon, Says MP

A Lebanese lawmaker representing Hezbollah's political faction has strongly condemned the Lebanese government's lack of action in response to ongoing Israeli aggression. The legislator emphasized that the resistance movement is prepared to respond decisively and with strength to any attacks by the forces of the Tel Aviv regime.

In a recent statement, Ali Fayyad, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, emphasized the significance of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. The agreement underscores the necessity of a comprehensive ceasefire in Lebanon and highlights Iran’s unwavering military and diplomatic support for the Lebanese people until Israeli forces withdraw. Fayyad articulated that this understanding clarifies the strategy behind achieving an effective balance with the Zionist adversary, potentially paving the way for the withdrawal from Lebanese territories.

A Lebanese parliamentarian asserted that any aggressive actions by Israeli forces grant Hezbollah an inherent right to retaliate. The lawmaker stressed that the ongoing presence of Israeli military forces on Lebanese territory underscores and solidifies the legitimacy of the Resistance in its efforts to confront and combat the occupying entities.

Trump issued a sharp critique of the Lebanese government’s decision to comply with American directives while engaging in direct talks with Israeli representatives.

Fayyad expressed regret over the actions of certain Lebanese authorities, criticizing their positions, negotiating performance, and internal calculations. He suggested that their stances have marginalized them from the power equation in confronting the Zionist adversary, safeguarding the Lebanese nation, and liberating occupied territories.

He stated, “Regrettably, the Lebanese government’s focus seems to be on monopolizing weapons rather than reclaiming occupied territories. The recurring stances, repeated errors, and determination to engage in weak, confusing, and submissive negotiations with the adversary highlight the government’s passive approach.”

A Hezbollah representative highlighted that the recent developments stemming from the Iran-US agreement present a critical challenge for the Lebanese government, serving as a litmus test for its capabilities and responses.

The Lebanese government needs to prioritize upholding the ceasefire and should firmly prevent any freedom of movement by the opposing forces, while establishing a definitive and unconditional timeline for Israel’s withdrawal.

Fayyad called on the Beirut government to adopt a resolute position and enact measures to terminate the Israeli agenda for operational liberty in Lebanon, as well as its repeated acts of aggression that infringe upon the rights of Lebanese citizens and neglect the sanctity of their lives.

Lebanese citizens are voicing their expectations, calling on the government to fulfill basic responsibilities. The public demands assurances from the authorities that would instill a sense of governance and accountability.

Fayyad emphasized that Hezbollah’s stance is explicit, unwavering, non-negotiable, and unyielding.

He emphasized that a ceasefire lacks significance if the adversary persists in its targeting and assassinations, asserting that the right to self-defense is firmly established and non-negotiable.
