Terrorist ‘israel’ Advances Past Gaza’s ‘Yellow Line,’ Expanding Territory by 10% Over Two Months

Recent analysis of updated Gaza maps indicates that Israeli forces have advanced westward, extending what is referred to as the yellow line, the volatile ceasefire boundary. This maneuver has resulted in the occupation of an additional 10 percent of Palestinian territory over the last two months.

A recent study by Gaza Maps has revealed that the region demarcated by the truce line and the yellow concrete barriers, installed by the Israeli military, constitutes nearly 10 percent of the Gaza Strip.

According to reports, 63 percent of Gaza is currently under the control of occupying forces, leaving Palestinians confined to less than 38 percent of the embattled territory.

On October 10, a ceasefire agreement brokered with US support was implemented between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, with the aim of concluding a two-year conflict in Gaza.

The truce designated the yellow line as a provisional demarcation for the withdrawal of Israeli forces, with additional withdrawals anticipated in subsequent stages of the accord.

The division of the Gaza Strip has resulted in its bifurcation, with Israeli military forces exerting control over the eastern segment of the besieged area.

Since the initiation of the ceasefire, Israeli forces have consistently advanced westward, taking control of additional Palestinian neighborhoods and classifying them as restricted areas.

The majority of the approximately 2 million residents of Gaza have been forced to relocate within the boundaries marked by the yellow line, where they are now residing amidst the ruins and devastation resulting from the actions described as an Israeli genocide.

Reem Mortaja, a resident of Gaza, reported that her family evacuated their home after discovering a yellow block positioned mere meters away upon waking one morning.

A spokesperson informed the Middle East Eye that despite global perceptions of a ceasefire, they are enduring ongoing phases of conflict. The occupation, she added, continues unchecked and swiftly, escaping condemnation.

“Daily developments include advances, airstrikes, and artillery fire, contributing to an ongoing cycle of displacement. This activity unfolds in complete silence.”

At least 406 Palestinians have lost their lives and 1,118 others have been wounded since the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire. A significant number of these casualties occurred as a result of shootings by Israeli forces near the demarcation line.

On October 7, 2023, Israel launched a significant military operation in Gaza. Despite the stated goals of the campaign, it resulted in the deaths of 70,942 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and left 171,195 others injured.
