IRGC Naval Drill Showcases Missiles Exceeding Persian Gulf Range, Says Parliament Speaker
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has lauded the efforts of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy for the successful execution of a military exercise in the Persian Gulf. He noted that the drill featured the deployment of newly developed domestically-produced long-range missiles.

During a public parliamentary session in Tehran on Sunday, Qalibaf commended the precise missile strikes and the successful test launch of advanced long-range precision missiles, which were expertly engineered by Iranian technicians. These developments took place during a two-day military exercise, codenamed Shahid Mohammad Nazeri. He hailed the accomplishment as a significant source of national pride.
A naval exercise commenced on Thursday, spanning across key locations including the Persian Gulf, the Naze’at maritime zone encompassing Abu Musa, Greater and Lesser Tunb, and Siri islands, in addition to the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.
Qalibaf highlighted that the armaments used in the IRGC Navy’s extensive drill possess a striking range that exceeds the maximum length of the Persian Gulf, which is 989 kilometers (615 miles).
A senior Iranian lawmaker emphasized that the missiles possess the capability to strike their intended targets with remarkable accuracy.
Earlier, the deputy commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters revealed that advanced and intelligent weaponry, all produced domestically, was employed during the Shahid Mohammad Nazeri naval exercise in southern Iran.
Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari highlighted that the military exercise utilized long-range, highly accurate, and advanced smart systems, all of which were domestically developed by the Defense Ministry in conjunction with the IRGC Navy.
Heidari praised the high spirits of the IRGC naval forces during the recent drill, highlighting that effective coordination, leadership, and meticulous planning were crucial in conducting the war exercises with remarkable accuracy in the strategic waters of the Sea of Oman and the Persian Gulf.
