The army soldiers fended off ISIL’s offensive from the village of Rahoum on government positions near the village of Taloul al-Hawa in Eastern Homs, killing most of the militants.
The army also targeted ISIL’s movements in Tal (Hill) al-Awamid toward the town of al-Quaryatayn in Eastern Homs, killing tens of militants.
ISIL’s gatherings and movements in the villages of al-Mosheirefeh al-Janoubi, Rabi’eh, Rasm al-Sab’ah and al-Rabiyeh came under heavy attacks of the Syrian soldiers too.
The Syrian air force also carried out several combat flights over ISIL’s positions in al-Sha’er oilfield in Eastern Homs, while army men targeted ISIL’s centers in al-Maher oilfield, leaving a number of their vehicles destroyed.
In the meantime, the army troops targeted bases and positions of Fatah al-Sham in the towns and villages of Tir Ma’ala, Ein Issa al-Janoubi, al-Mashjar al-Janoubi, Um Sharshouh and al-Qantou towards Talbiseh in Northern Homs, destroying terrorists’ arms and equipment.
Army soldiers also repelled a large-scale attack of the ISIL on their positions in Southeastern Homs on Monday, while the country’s fighter jets pounded terrorists’ centers in two oil-rich regions of the province.
The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL terrorists, who attacked several government positions in al-Quaryatayn region in Southeastern Homs.
Reports said the army inflicted casualties on the militants and destroyed a number of their vehicles.
ISIL retreated from the battlefield after sustaining heavy losses, the reports added.
The Syrian warplanes also carried out several continued strikes on ISIL position and bases near the oilfields of al-Maher and al-Sha’er and the village of Huweises, near the town of al-Quaryatayn, claiming the lives of a number of terrorists and destroying their positions and vehicles.
