Zionist Newspaper Dismisses Netanyahu’s Victory Claims, Acknowledges ‘Concealed Defeat’ in Gaza Conflict

Zionist media outlets have reported on what they describe as the "hidden defeat" of the occupying regime in its two-year conflict with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. This perspective challenges Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's assertions of victory in the blockaded coastal region, labeling them as a "deceptive trap."

In a report published on Tuesday, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth examined the multifaceted impact of the Israeli military actions in Gaza and the consequences following the regime’s extensive conflict. This is despite Netanyahu’s assertions of victory and accomplishments over the Palestinian resistance group Hamas since October 7, 2023.

The publication reported that two years subsequent to the event that “altered Israel’s history indefinitely, the aftermath appears unresolved,” and emphasized that “following difficult narratives and delayed security insights, though timely, it is now crucial to address an obscured defeat, a cognitive setback.”

Highlighting Hamas’s ability to penetrate Israel’s rigorous security protocols on October 7, the report criticized any efforts by the Israeli leadership, including the prime minister and top officials, to declare triumph over the Palestinian resistance and its unexpected assault as a “deceptive trap.”

Yedioth Ahronoth articulated that the human tendency to construct and accept narratives, despite their contradiction with reality, presents a comforting yet misleading hazard. This sense of doubt climaxed when the supposedly unbeatable security force was unexpectedly ambushed and suffered a significant setback.

In situations where the reality remains elusive, narratives tend to dominate. When comprehension falters, people gravitate towards stories that create a sense of control, despite their potential disconnect from the truth. Consequently, two years on, the truth remains obscured, yet convictions remain unwavering.

An Israeli newspaper has disclosed details regarding the Gaza peace agreement facilitated by Egypt and the United States on September 29. It reported that Netanyahu established crucial conditions but also made “significant concessions,” while allegedly keeping the public uninformed about the full extent of the agreement.

As reported by the paper, the fundamental conditions established by the Israeli Prime Minister to conclude the conflict in Gaza demanded what was characterized as “a total capitulation to Hamas.”

Yedioth Ahronoth has reported, citing reviewed documents, that Hamas remains armed, Gaza has not been demilitarized, and the territory has not been cleared.

Inquiries continue to circulate as to why Netanyahu relinquished certain conditions, with the publication questioning, “If these conditions were essential, why did Netanyahu give them up?” It further emphasized that the public merits transparent explanations to address the major unresolved issues.

The Hebrew newspaper, quoting an Israeli intelligence source, reported that while the agreement is deemed successful, it involves significant and profound concessions.

The ceasefire, established on Friday, was the culmination of extensive negotiations in Egypt. These discussions were part of a wider agreement that includes a prisoner exchange and measures to reopen border crossings, aimed at facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Israeli military is set to cease hostilities and initiate a partial withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Concurrently, Hamas is expected to release all remaining captives in a reciprocal arrangement for Israel’s release of over 2,000 Palestinian detainees.

During the conflict in Gaza, approximately 68,000 Palestinians lost their lives and 170,134 sustained injuries, with the majority being women and children.

In the wake of the ceasefire’s enforcement, the casualty count has escalated significantly as additional bodies are extracted from beneath the debris.

Experts project that the confirmed death toll may see a significant increase as bodies currently trapped beneath the debris are accounted for.
