Yemen Fires Ballistic Missiles at Tel Aviv, Prompting Airport Shutdown

The Yemeni military announced on Wednesday that it executed a strategic dual military operation involving the deployment of two ballistic missiles. The operation utilized a “Palestine-2” missile and a “Zulfiqar” missile, according to the military’s statement.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced that their recent strike served as a retaliatory action against what they described as Israel’s genocide and starvation campaign in Gaza. They further characterized it as “the initial response” to Israeli hostilities against Yemen.
Israeli airstrikes targeted the Yemeni capital on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahawi from the National Government of Change and Construction, along with eight other officials.
The Israeli military’s assertion of intercepting a missile was followed by significant operational disturbances, leading to the closure of Ben Gurion Airport and the sounding of sirens across the Tel Aviv area.
The statement indicated that missiles were directed at “sensitive targets” belonging to Israeli forces in the occupied region of Yaffa.
The operation met its targets effectively, prompting numerous Zionist settlers to seek refuge in shelters and leading to the suspension of airport activities, the statement continued.
The statement emphasized that Israel is “perpetrating grave atrocities against two million Muslims in Gaza, the land viewed by some as a site of conflict and sacrifice, while two billion Muslims worldwide remain largely silent and inactive.”
The statement asserted that those committed to Islam will take action and not remain passive in response to what they described as a genocidal crime.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared that Israel will not experience security and stability, and have announced an intention to intensify operations in the near future.
In response to Israel’s offensive in Gaza that began in October 2023, Yemeni forces have launched numerous assaults in support of Palestinians, directing their attacks at airports, ports, and various other locations within the occupied territories. Yemen has consistently pledged to persist with these strikes as long as Israel maintains its military operations and blockade against the isolated region.
The recent military actions in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of over 63,600 Palestinians, with more than 160,900 individuals, predominantly children and women, sustaining injuries.
